Meet Judge Veronica Barisich

Judge Veronica Barisich is the presiding judge of Department 5 of the Eighth Judicial District Court in Clark County, Nevada. She was elected in November 2020, took the bench in January 2021, and is running for re-election in November 2026.

Judge Barisich oversees a docket of civil cases, including medical malpractice specialty court cases, and probate matters. Before taking the bench, she practiced civil litigation, family law, guardianship, and probate, and she is admitted to practice in the Nevada state courts and the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada.

She has served as a Small Claims Court Judge Pro Tem and as a member of the State Bar of Nevada Fee Dispute Committee. Judge Barisich earned her bachelor's degree in International Relations from Michigan State University's James Madison College and her Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
